They are made from biodegradable acetate, and are made in a carbon neutral manufactuing facility.
Instead of conventional arms, Times have an unbreakable and adjustable rubber band that wraps around your head and hinges on the frame. This means you can never break the arm off your glasses again. Sit on them, stand on them, drive over them. They'll be fine.
It also mean they can never fall off. They have been tested surfing, trail running, canoeing, skiing, skateboarding, you name it. These glasses will never fall off.
And instead of putting them away in their case every time the sun goes in, you can keep them flat against your chest or tucked inside your top thanks to the fold-flat ability of the hinged band.
