Element

High-performance studio microphones built in the UK

A new type of microphone

Element achieves something very rare - it is a completely new type of microphone. For decades there have been condenser, dynamic and ribbon mics. But now there is Ridyon too - a completely new proprietory capsule technology developed by Aston. It provides the best of all the previous technologies combined, without the drawbacks. Thick bottom end with sacrificing breathy top end. Exceptional transient response without getting overpowered by heavy vocals.

Form follows flow

The Ridyon capsule requires very particular airflow characteristics around the capsule, and so the form of Element is completely styled around optimising these flows. From the very thin head profile to the waveform contoured chassis, the design serves to maximise the acoustic performance of the mic.

Shockwave and Swift Shield

We developed a unique shockmounting technology for Element called Shockwave. A continuous wave of highly-damping thermoplastic elastomer holds the mic in perfect isolation from its surroundings. This design combines excellent performance with unrivalled sturdiness.

Swift Shield is the fastest and easiest pop shield on the market. It mounts directly to the chassis of the mic with powerful neodymium magnets, and when not needed can simply be flipped upside down rather than being packed away. It is made from a single piece of photoetetched stainless steel, in keeping with the raw Aston aesthetic.
