Bicupola Pavilion

High-performance studio microphones built in the UK

Finding elegance in the complex

Designed to cover an outdoor meeting room for a office fit out in central London, the curved form of the Bicupola also provides a sculptural focal point on a 7th floor terrace.

Mule Studio worked closely with the architects, engineers and fabricators to finetune the overall form and model thousands of individual elements.

Curved forms from flat sheets

The overall form is a double-curved minimal surface. To support the work of the fabricators we digitally unrolled the curved forms into 2d shapes.

This meant the fabricators had ready-made pieces that they knew would fit together perfectly.

Mule Studio is passionate about enabling projects that combine digital fabrication with the skill of the human craftsperson.

Solving complex geometry

We are uniquely placed to find solutions and deliver complex geometrical projects at all scales. We can work directly with companies on projects or provide in-house training to their architects and engineers.
