High-performance studio microphones built in the UK
We were approached by Architects Studio RHE to support the complex design, fabrication and installation of a 3D faceted ceiling for leading luxury health and fitness brand Third Space at their new site in the City of London.
Studio RHE are renowned for their fast generation of concept ideas and global reputation for their bold and innovative residential, leisure and workspace environments.
The design concept was for reflective folded steel ceiling above the 20m swimming pool. We used parametric modelling tools to take Studio RHE’s concept geometry and turn it into a rationalised, fabrication-ready data set with key information for setting out and installation embedded into each panel.
We worked closely with the installation team to make sure we understood their capabilities, methods and requirements. Based on this we developed systems to enable quick and error-free installation. For example, the hanging height of each panel corner was engraved into the back of the panel so they didn't need to look at drawings while trying to hang the heavy panels.
