We were approached by a beauty entrepreneur who was looking for a solution to correctly store and dry teardrop make-up application sponges.
Sponges are cleaned with water and soap once used and need to air dry in order to maintain hygiene. When sponges are wet, they expand to double or triple their size. As they dry out they shink back making storage more of a challenge.
We designed and fabricated a collapsible, tiered solution which would work both in a domestic bathroom and a professional Makeup Artist’s kit.
When wet the sponge is supported by the biggest ring, and as it gradually dries and shrinks it drops down towards the smallest ring.
The rings fold down flat against the base so it will fit in the tightest of make-up bags. And they pop right back up with a light press of the finger.
